Have you ever dug through the very back of your closet before, and found a piece of clothing that you haven't worn in months or maybe even forgot that it exist? I'm definitely guilty of this.
This particular skirt was a victim of my impulsive purchase back when Phillip Lim did a collection for Target. I remembered when he released the highly anticipated collection and how I scrambled into the stores like a maniac to get my hands on his pieces. Sadly, I only worn this skirt a few times, and it easily got tucked away to the back of my closet. But, I'm so thrilled to bring it back to life and pair it in a unique way.
A few months ago I did a post about how to subtly mix prints, and knew I wanted to do it again with a super unconventional pattern like this skirt. I think what makes this outfit work so well is the balance of prints. With the bolder and louder prints on the bottom, I kept the top portion minimal and simplistic with a striped blouse. Since the overall look I was going for was sophisticated and lady-like, I completed the look with pointed toe heels - and of course, kept the color neutral for a cohesive addition to rest of the outfit.
