4 Things I'm Loving

As winter comes into an end, and we enter into warmer and sunnier days ahead, I'm changing up routines and embracing new adventures along the way. There's a couple of things I've discovered that I simply cannot get enough of, and I'm excited to share with you why it's a constant favorite.

1.) Murals
LA definitely does not have a shortage of beautiful and funky murals. One of my favorite traits about the city of lights is that there's a lot of hidden art scattered all over different neighborhoods. From West Hollywood to downtown to Silverlake, there's a plethora of amazing murals that can be found at every street corner. Definitely many Instagram-worthy shots to take advantage of whether you like flirty, feminine styles or edgy, funky designs.

2.) Lighter and brighter fabrics
Spring is such a festive and flirty season with softer color palettes and lighter fabrics emerging left and right. Pretty prints are all the rage this season as well, and I'm looking forward to embracing florals & gingham with open arms. Trying to take it easy as I start shopping for spring trends because I know seasons can pass by in the blink of an eye, but I can't resist blush, coral and mint tones. Something about those colors instantly brighten my mood!

3.) Teeth Whitening Kits
When Smile Brilliant first contacted me about trying out their kit, I was very intrigued about the idea of a home kit rather going to the dentist for this treatment. They've been generous enough to provide a full kit for me to experiment with and knowing that it's my first time whitening my teeth, they offered the sensitive system which definitely helped ease me into it. All the products in the system arrive neatly organized so you know exactly where to start and the directions are clearly stated. The whole process is truly efficient and hassle-free. I used the kit about 3-4 times a week and have noticed a color difference in my teeth. It's very impressive considering I stain my teeth so often being a frequent coffee consumer. I can't believe I've gone 27 years of my life without whitening my teeth, and now it's ingrained in my evening routine now knowing the steps are quick and easy.

 4.) Rooftop Brunches
Nothing screams LA more than rooftops and brunches, so when you combine the two you have absolutely pure bliss. I'm not exaggerating. Just take a look at this gorgeous scenery below located at Catch LA, a new hotspot that just opened up in West Hollywood. I'm obsessed with the floral decor. Feels like you are walking into nirvana once you step out of the elevator and waltz towards the hostess table. Their brunch is also not too shabby. Avocado toast and eggs benedict are two of the things I tend to order at brunch, and it was divine. I won't lie about the hefty price tag though. A place like this can break your wallet, so unless there's another special occasion, I'll be back just for the Instagram pics!

Olive Cutout Jumpsuit

I've been waiting around for spring to arrive and for the weather to become warmer so I can begin to embrace the cutout style. My favorite types are when cutouts are strategically placed so it accentuates your features and creates a flattering silhouette.

This olive jumpsuit from Zara is super sleek and chic, and I'm completely obsessed with the quality of this gem. While it may not be the most appropriate attire for work, it definitely can be layered with a blazer for the office and then transitioned to evening wear with a pop of color in the heels. Plus, did I mention the culottes style which is a trend I hope stays around for a while because I find it completely versatile. It can swing on either end of the spectrum in terms of dressing down or dressing up this number.

What do you think about cutouts and how do you plan to wear them for spring?

Retro Chic in Pleated Emerald Midi Skirt

I've always thought that I was born in the wrong decade. Don't get me wrong. I absolutely love today's advance technology and how far we've come in society, but there's definitely a reason why so many decade favorites are making a comeback. My fashion inspiration stems from a variety of places but I've always resonated with the 40s and 50s, not just through their style but also from the culture, romance and simplicity during those times.
In this look, I've combined some of the details I've currently loving. This rich emerald pleated midi skirt makes a statement on its own with its' elegance and movement. I simply fell head over heels for it and tracked down this skirt in countless stores for over three months, until it finally became available recently. I was definitely relentless to get my hands on this gem. It was a fun twist to style the skirt with the black choker top blending in the influences of the 90s to this look. The finishing touch was definitely the duster coat which completely tied the whole outfit effortlessly and helped streamlined the colors together. It's super light, airy and has the ability or elevate any look simply with it's flattering silhouette.

Have you ever had a blast from the past with your style?

Black on Black

It's been quite some time since I've updated the blog! In the past week or so, I recently started a part-time gig as a Personal Stylist so I've been consumed with balancing that on top of my full-time job. Nonetheless, it's been such a great experience so far and I'm learning a lot about fashion and working with different shapes/bodies that I can also utilize in my blog as well.

With this new job added in my day-to-day mix, I definitely feel busier than ever! I usually make an effort to pick out my clothes the evening before I wake up and dress up, but sometimes it doesn't always go as planned. As a back-up option, I revert to my go-to-outfit aka the all black style! You can absolutely never go wrong with black. Classic, timeless, and perfect for almost all occasions. Head to toe black is incredibly chic and slimming, especially a body-hugging material like this top and bottom combo. To add some depth and interest, the top has criss-cross details and for heels I opted for red as a small splash of color. My leopard clutch also adds vibrancy to the overall look.

What do you think about head to toe black and would you ever sport this look?
